Daniel Taras
Daniel heads the EMSD Programme and also serves as the Executive Director of the Economic Policy Forum (EPF). Prior to his current role, he was head of section within GIZ’s global partnerships and emerging economies unit and worked as a long-term advisor on corporate social responsibility in China and on private sector development in Laos. He started his career as a strategic management consultant, investment banker and financial sector economist in London, UK. Besides, he has worked, lived and travelled in a number of Asian, African, and Latin American countries. Daniel holds a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics (LSE), an MSc in Development Finance from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), and an MPhil from Cambridge University, specializing in Chinese economy and management, which included studies at Peking University’s Guanghua School of Management. He is also an alumnus of the German Development Institute.
