Emma Watkins

Emma Watkins is a Senior Policy Analyst in IEEP’s Industry, Waste and Water Programme. Her key areas of expertise include waste, resource efficiency, circular economy and environmental taxation. Emma’s key projects have included looking at the socio-economic impacts of marine litter, the use of economic instruments to address litter, and the links between plastics, marine litter and the circular economy. In addition she has worked on studies to evaluate the EU waste Directives, investigate the use of economic instruments for waste management, and promote greener taxes and subsidies in Pacific Island Countries and Territories. Emma is co-author of the paper on Circular economy measures to keep plastics and their value in the economy, avoid waste and reduce marine litter.
