Lavanya Vijayasingham
Lavanya Vijayasingham United Nations University International Institute for Global Health (UNU-IIGH)
Vijayasingham is post-doctoral fellow at UNU-IIGH, where she works on gender and health policy and research. Her work at UNU-IIGH includes the study of financing for gender equality in the HIV response, the financing and economics of self-care interventions for SRHR, and the gender-responsiveness of donor-funded health programming, and more recently, research agenda-setting for gender and COVID-19. She has a PhD in Public Health (Monash University Malaysia), a Master of Public Health from the University of Melbourne (Health Economics), and a Bachelors of Applied Science (Pharmaceutical Sciences) from RMIT University Australia. Prior to joining UNU-IIGH, Lavanya has worked in academia, government, the pharmaceutical industry, consulting and NGO settings in Australia and Malaysia, and has published across multiple academic areas including gender in management, business ethics, healthcare financing and access, disability and employment policy and patient experiences.
