Rainer Thiele
Prof. Rainer Thiele is an Adjunct Professor at University of Kiel, Head of Research Area “Poverty Reduction, Equity, and Development and the Managing Editor of the e-journal ‘Economics’ at the Kiel Institute for the World Economy. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Economics and earned his PhD in Economics of University of Kiel. He works in the areas of large-scale land acquisitions in Sub-Saharan Africa, pro-poor growth, the role of agriculture in economic development, the informal sector and aid allocation and aid effectiveness. Prof. Thiele gives regularly lectures and seminars on “Poverty, Inequality and Development” at University of Kiel.
