The Global Health Centre at The Graduate Institute
The Global Health Centre (GHC) is the Graduate Institute’s research, training and capacity building centre focusing on global health governance and diplomacy. It is one of the first of its kind and it reflects the wider trend in both the practice and analysis of global health, which pays increasing attention to the links between health, foreign policy, trade and development. Through its work, the Global Health Centre provides a better understanding of the shifting power balance in global health, such as the increasing influence of emerging economies and the powerful role played by new foundations, the private sector and non-governmental organisations.
The GHC builds capacity by engaging in research, knowledge translation and diffusion as well as by conducting extensive executive training in global health diplomacy for and with major stakeholders in Geneva and worldwide.
By affirming itself as a leading research centre on health as a global governance challenge and a centre of excellence in global health diplomacy worldwide, the Global Health Centre broadens the understanding of global health, builds capacity, contributes to setting agendas in global health governance and diplomacy at the European and International levels, and fosters inclusive partnerships across the region.
