Women 20 Argentina
Evidence shows that by closing the gender gap in economic participation alone, global GDP would increase by 26%, that is, by 5.3 trillion dollars, by the year 2025.
In order to achieve their inclusion in the labor market, women need to be given access to the development of digital and financial skills and so come closer to new opportunities. All proposals must take into account a geographically-oriented perspective that understands that the context of rural women is different from that of urban women. In addition, steps need to be taken towards a cultural change to reduce the hurdles that keep women from becoming active agents in their development.
In this fourth edition of the W20, Argentina will focus on consolidating the achievements of earlier editions, taking a step forward in the attainment of its objectives.
In this sense, based on the recommendations outlined in Turkey, China and Germany, W20 Argentina will seek:
- To identify and analyze the public policies that have stemmed from the recommendations and commitments made by the G20 countries.
- To collect and visibilize good practices that, when properly contextualized, allow countries to achieve the commitments they have made.
- To mainstream the gender perspective into the engagement groups working for the G20.
Specifically, actions will revolve around the following focus topics:
- Labor Inclusion
- Digital Inclusion
- Financial Inclusion
- Rural Development
